Overview/Description

.......of the various aspects of the Area of Awareness

This information explains how parents are trying with people stealing kids Social Security numbers.People might do this because in Apirl 25.5% of people had a cedit score of 599 or less. A Social Security cleaned and not used it's called number it's CPN.

This subject pertains greatly to this Area of Awareness, Individual Awareness, because it relates to why business people should know how to act online (and offline). Business people have to know themselves to know how they should act online.

Becky Garrison made a web page called 'Surf Your Values'. It is about how to act online and what to do with your values while you are on the computer. Also how to be safe online and to respect others and their privacy. Some people don't think about what they put down on the internet until it is actually out there. Others are careful and keep things on a private area so only certain people can look at it.[1]

Becky also wrote that Microsoft is trying to make surfing your values easier. Online trust is security an privacy. Always be polite and respectful to others online. If someone is in the same room of you talk to them instead of email or texting them. Don't flirt with someone if you or the other person is married. Twitter messages are mostly about other people and the people that post them usually don't have permission.[2]

The students at WMS know that it is important that families know what to do online. Some of the things are that we will only go to sites we know and are okay with our parents, and that getting music, games and movies for free is illegal. To help people with how they should behave online. Digizen provides an agreement to help families manage the rights and wrongs. [3]

These two connect by doing the right thing. Keeping the simplest things to yourself like passwords and codes are common sense. When you grow up you especially need to keep your social security number to yourself. This has become a big problem for kids lately because there not old enough to use it,so people hack into them and use them so there credit isn't so high. Please remember your the one responsible for your actions.[4]

Family agreement about being online. Always tell parents when you are uncomfortable with the internet. Do not meet someone in person that you meet on the internet. Will use sites the way there suppose to be used. On the internet will only post friendly or good stuff. We will delete any unwanted stuff. Tell parents about bad messages. http://www.digizen.org/digicentral/family-agreement.aspx

Families have their own personal guidelines and rules to live by. These standards include rules about being online. Digizen.org made a list of guidelines for families to follow.

WMS students know that you have to be kind and courteous while your online. You should understand the limits of technology. Some people are afraid to use the internet because of cyberbullying. So make sure you don't harm anyone in anyway while using a website. <ref> Garrison, Becky. Possible solutions

.....what are the problems that have emerged to do with this Area of Awareness and what are some solutions?

If business people are having a tough time dealing with rude people, they should take a break. Maybe they could take a walk, a coffee break, or just some deep breathes. They should do anything that calms or refreshes them.

Check Socail security numbers and keep an eye on them in cause some one trys
to steal them and sell them. They might try this because they cost from any from a few hundred dollars to a couple tounsand dollars.

Families should have a family meeting to set rules about being online that the whole family agrees with.

    Background

.......of the Area of Awareness including specific real examples

Becky Garrison wrote a web page about how business people should 'surf their values' and decide how they should act toward their clients and associates, no matter how that other person(s) is acting. They have to be polite to rude costumers and associates. They have to be individually aware of their values and beliefs so they know they personally should act online. They have to know themselves as people in order to make responsible decisions.
Business people have to be polite and respectful on websites such as Facebook when engaged in a business related conversation with clients and associates, even if that individual(s) is being rude or inconsiderate. This relates to Individual Awareness because it definitly relates to being aware of one's self.

This information is related to Individual Awareness because families need to be individually aware of their personal values in order to set rules, guidelines, and standards. A typical family agreement may include some of the following rules:

    • We will not give out personal information online.

    Social / ethical aspects
